I am excited to introduce myself to the mental health community in the greater Twin Cities Metro areas and am eager to be practicing Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychotherapy in Burnsville. I have recently returned to Minnesota to spend more time with family and long-time friends. Professionally, I have maintained a private practice as a psychotherapist going on the fifteenth year and as an adjunct faculty member for ten of those years. I thoroughly enjoy working with a variety of people, ages, mental health issues in various environments.
I bring distinctive qualifications to people having both a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology, and Master degrees in Clinical Social Work/Clinical Psychology, along with 20 years of experience providing mental health care to children, their families, adolescents and adults. I have delivered professional talks/trainings, facilitated workshops, written professional papers, trained interns through licensure. I have obtained specialized training in relational psychotherapy, trauma and attachment theories, eating disorders, play therapy.
As a psychotherapist I see people ages 3-80 with various mental health concerns. I work with individuals who have attachment, or relationship issues, trauma, or those who are dealing with anxiety, depression, attention, regulatory issues, eating disorders, or adjustment issues like divorce, grief, and loss, those who are struggling with friendships, learning issues such as concentration, distraction and lack of motivation. For children I provide play therapy, utilizing modalities such as sand play, puppets, art, creative writing, psychodrama, and stories, or games which improve self-monitoring/regulation capacities.
Impassioned about the healing potential each person brings to a therapy session I feel blessed to be a part of the process of learning/change/growth a person, couple or family experiences whilst on their journeys of life. I am motivated, enthusiastic, and would appreciate the opportunity to provide psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, adults and to work in collaboration with you.
